It seems “The Mangles Bay Economic Study” which claims $1.3 billion in economic benefits for the Rockingham region, was in fact prepared by the project development company itself (Cedar Woods).
If this important fact is true then this report lacks independence, as they have a vested interest to pump the numbers.
The report is clearly being used to sway public opinion on the project, but it is not accessible for public viewing. This does not seem in accordance with normal due diligence and governance processes.
If this report is going to being used to sway public opinion, but is not available for public scrutiny and independence, normal governance protocol would require one to apply skepticism, thus lead one to lean towards a conclusion there is something to hide, or that the numbers don’t stack up.
